We take pride working along-side you to develop the perfect backsplash idea. And then we make it happen! Before the start of any project, we discuss your ideas and provide feedback on the materials and design. We believe in customization and provide flexibility when it comes to working with you. Some of our customers choose to provide their own backsplash panels; and this is totally OK with us. In such a case, we would only charge for the work and the customer would be responsible for providing the panels. Each backsplash installation project is unique and we approach every installation with a detailed eye!
Designs & Materials
We work with a variety of designs and materials. A rare – and striking – design such as a herringbone pattern will bring brilliance and character to any space. The herringbone pattern is one of the most difficult designs as each corner or base sheet needs to be carefully cut with a diamond blade. The pattern showcases an arrangement of rectangular pieces which resembles the bones of fish. Each block is typically showcased in a parallelogram. Other popular backsplash designs include rectangular or square blocks with a 1/8th of an inch separation. These designs require detailed grouting and haze removal. If haze is not removed accordingly, the pieces may appear grayish and dull.
Wesley’s catalog provides an extensive variety of backsplash materials. Stone, honed marble, metallic, and reflective materials are all popular. Traditional materials include ceramic and porcelain, which create a bold “tile-like” finish which can also be paired with catchy edge treatments. Multiple color blocks can be easily mixed with any of these materials, but usually go best with porcelain and ceramic. Each material requires a different treatment. For example, when applying grout, some materials may scratch easier than others. Our installers are well-versed with the hardness of each material to ensure a scratch-free surface. Additionally, cutting each edge is performed in a smooth fashion to ensure a seamless finish.
